Terminology
Voyeurism = The practice of gaining sexual pleasure from watching others when they are naked or engaged in sexual activity. in the case of music video, it would be when people and things are sexualised to make their video more popular.
Male Gaze = The “gaze” is a term that describes how viewers engage with visual media. The gaze refers to how we look at visual representations. These include advertisements, television programs and cinema.
Exhibitionism = A compulsive desire to attract attention to oneself, esp by absurd or exaggerated behaviour or boasting, being sexually provocative.
Raunch Culture = a culture which promotes overtly sexual representations of women, as through the acceptance of pornography, stripping, nudity in advertising, etc, esp when this is encouraged by women
As you can see most of the 'bad' representations are focused towards women and the way they conduct themselves. It is frowned upon to behave in a sexy manner yet without it, no one is interested in the product you are trying to sell.
