This is the teaser video for our new and upcoming music video of 'On Our Own'. We decided to produce a teaser video to give our fans a hint of what is going to be included in the final music video. It also tells our fans to keep an eye out for the release and means more people will buy and shared the final product - giving us more sales.

Magazine Article Draft 1

1.

2.

Here are the first two drafts of our magazine article. As you can see at the top we had a completely different format, thing became problematic as:

- It was not a magazine article: it looked more like a poster and did not have a magazine look
- There is no distinctive columns: it is not adapted in comparison to a normal magazine article
- It has more of the vanilla brand image, than a magazine brand image; like billboard.

Due to these factors some serious changes needed to be made to the layout of our article. Once we had changed these parts we realised some of the content wasn't quite perfect and therefore we also had to change the writing in the article and then we would

This is a photo we have used to publicise our names and our faces - it also gives an incite into what is to come in our music video.

Final Magazine Cover

After many drafts Sophie produced this amazing billboard cover. The balloons incorporate the DigiPak and the music video, making our band image stand out. Plus it has equal coverage of all three of us to show how we work well together as a group and encompass everyones talents.

Music Video Draft 3

Since the last draft we had spaces nearer the end of the music video that hadn't been filled with footage therefore we added in more shots of the three of us. As this is the third draft we were able to show the development of the video and how precise the shots have become. From the feedback of our  evaluation we were told that we should re-shoot to include a larger variety of shots - so we chose to go back to Hylands and shoot more add in shots to add to the end and throughout the video.

Looking back on it we have many things that need to be tweaked and edited to make it look more professional. These include:

  • There is a tractor shot where the camera jumps - it makes it look unprofessional and ruins the shot (1:21)
  • The frame of the shot is wrong as it doesn't fit in with the youtube frame or match any of the industry standards
  • At the start of the music video the lip syncing is just out of time (the first minute) as it is slightly out it makes us look as though it isn't us that are singing
  • at this point we still hadn't applied and editing so that is also a must to make our music video improve - contrast, brighten etc
  • The shots are too different in brightness - (2:18) - between Sophie and Pip, Pip is really bright and colourful and Sophie is dark and cloudy. This contrast doesn't fit well together therefore we need to edit sophist shot to s brighter scene or change the shots so they rant shown next to each other.

Website Progress

Draft One :: From group feedback we found that this website design was really plain and didn’t relate well to the fun loving image we wanted to bring across due to its simplistic design. To improve we decided to add more colours to create a better synergy between all of our products.

Draft Two :: These are the first and second drafts of our website. At the top you can see it looks really plain and doesn't really show our bands personalities. We are happy, fun and colourful therefore as you can see the bright peachy colour promotes are band well.

DigiPak First Draft Feedback

This is the first draft of our Digipak, we wanted to bring across a fun, enthusiastic and friendly vibe whilst also using synergy to encompass all of our media together.

In the feedback we were told that -

It was good because:
  • It links in well with all of our other medias
  • The colour scheme works well - its bright and colourful so will attract our target audience( 12-30)
  • The pictures were cute
It was bad because:
  • The images seem squashed, they should be squares
  • The CD isn't a circle shape which is should be - again it has been squished
  • We are missing the writing of the production company on the back and a list of the songs
  • The "Vanilla by Vanilla" should be all across the band - it would look more interesting

Music Video Draft 2

Above shows a draft of our music video and the progress we have made since the halfway evaluation. Since this time, we have had a reshoot incorporating significant props (balloons) within the video to ensure synergy is noticeable throughout the video in conjunction with our promotional work; digipak, poster, magazine. We have also edited a lot of the footage to make it look more crisp and ensured that all of our lip syncing is in time with the music. We still have a lot of progress to make, however we are making a lot of improvement every day.
We have also received feedback from our teacher when she watched this video, she suggested:
  •  We need to sort out the contrast and brightness with the majority of the shots to ensure they are all equal.
  • We need to test out different ways to merge the split screen together (near the end of the video) to make us look less segregated when Renae is singing "sticks and stones".
  • We need to go over all of our cuts between each shot to see if we can match them up more significantly with the beat of the song.
  • We need to cut out bits of video where the camera jitters EG pip on the tractor.
  • Remove the footage of pip walking away from the camera. (2:01)
  • Rearrange some of the single shots so that the same person isnt next to eachother after each cut. EG pip walking on the logs and pip in the corn field (1:47)
  • Zoom out the shot where Sophie hits the girls on the head.
  • Contrast majority of the shots.
  • Pan next too the wooden panels is too boring.
  • 2:50- lip sync is out.

Final Logo

These are two examples of the logo that we wish to use to promote our brand. We have chosen to use both colours across all promotional work such as the digipak, the magazine and the tour poster. As a result of having our logo analysed by other peers and our teachers, this logo received the most votes as opposed to the guitar and another microphone that was not significant enough.
One feedback comment about the first logo with the guitar was that there was no synergy with the logo in comparison with the video or other aspects of work as we do not include a guitar. On the other hand, the microphone was the best design as we all singers which we link with the rest of the album.

Sophie produced this GIF to give our audience a sneak peak of whats going to be in the video.

Vanilla Logo Drafts

First Draft:

This was our first logo design. We really liked the font of the logo as it was bold and stood out however we were told that the guitar didn't fit with our band image as at no other point do we have a guitar or the guitar image. Because of the lack of synergy we decided this wasn't the best fit for our logo as it was too miss leading.

Second Draft:

We then decided to change the 'I' from the guitar to a microphone. However, the microphone we used looked dull and is not 100% clear due to its simple design. We had feedback to say that it made the whole logo look boring and therefore didn't match the fun vibe we were going for.

Synergy Artist Analysis

Fifth Harmony
This is an analysis of fifth harmony's newest album, fifth harmony by fifth harmony.

Website
This is the website for Fifth Harmony, an American pop group. The website shows many vibrant colours showing that they are a fun and upbeat. the picture equally shows all four of the girls showing that they are all united as a band. the picture also means they they are promoting their faces and subconsciously relating their faces to their band name.

 DigiPak
The digipak is a replica of the image from the website. This relates the digital to the website and links the products together. The bright colours appeal to thier target audience of young and fun loving girls. The font it large and obvious so that it catches the eye of the audience. It is also used in the website as well as their other media products.

Music Video

The colours used are the same that are shown in the digital and the website, relating all of the platforms together. They have also used the same font throughout all of their products as this makes the font unique to them. They have also made their profile picture on youtube of their digipak. This promotes the album when people are interested in their newly released single.
